Though fractional-ounce gold coins began to debut in the 1980s, the first expansion to a new metal came in 1988. The 1 oz silver coin made its debut that year and quickly grew to become one of the worlds most popular silver coins. Right now, 2022 1 oz Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Tubes are available to purchase online from Bright Bullion.

Canadian Silver Maple Leaf coins feature two security features in the 1 oz silver weight as of 2014. The mint introduced two new features to the coin that year to combat counterfeiters. The coins now have radial lines in the background field on both the obverse and the reverse. Additionally, there is a micro-laser engraved privy mark on the reverse side of the coin. This textured maple leaf comes with the last two digits of the date mark, 22, at the center. You can only see these digits with the aid of magnification.
Obverse visuals on the 2022 Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Coins in this tube include the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is the longest-reigning English monarch and her effigy has featured on Canadian coins throughout her reign. This design is the fourth-generation portrait of the Queen to feature on Canadian coins and it was designed in 2003 by Susanna Blunt.
